Onelook - One word describes OneLook: comprehensive, as in covering completely. This site collects definitions from more than 100 dictionaries, ranging from garden-variety Merriam-Webster's to the (who knew?) Yiddish-Hebrew-English-German-Russian Picture Dictionary. We love being able to see definitions from such a variety of sources (and it frees up a lot of bookshelf space).

Earth and Universe - Graphically not the most engaging site, but does provide an excellent audio and visual presentation on the universe. The site focuses on stars, nebulae, and galaxies. Well worth the visit.
The Virtual Sun  - An informative tour about the sun. This site includes lots of fascinating images and MPEG movies. You can choose to take a tour in English or view it in Dutch.

Solar System Live  - This site provides an interactive view of the solar system. You can set the time, date, viewpoint, and more. There is also a link to the "Earth Viewer" which shows the day and night regions of the earth.
Window to the Universe - Attractively presented and very informative--this site provides an introduction to the Universe. Topics include, "Our Planet," "Space Missions," "Our Solar System," "People," and much more.
World Wide Arts Resources - The definitive Arts and Culture Information Gateway
The Complete History of the Discovery of Cinematography - This site is unusual in that it documents ancient history leading to the birth of cinematography. This historical chronicle starts with the discovery of the pinhole image around 900 B.C., and ends in the late 1800s A.D.
120 Years of Electronic Music - Learn the history of electronic music from the musical telegraph of 1876 to the Kurtzweil synthesizer of 1983.
Cartoonbank.com  - "On the Internet, nobody knows you're a dog," one canine remarks to another in a New Yorker cartoon by Peter Steiner. The New Yorker is known for its clever cartoons from respected cartoonists, including Charles Addams and Jack Ziegler.
