WELCOME TO THE DIOCESE OF MARBEL, PHILIPPINES!

RELIGIOUS EDUCATION Resources on the Net

  • Catechism of the Catholic Church. Officially dated 1992, copyrighted 1993. French appeared first. Afterwards back-translated into Latin for the editio typica, and translated into various languages. The English version in particular was problematic. Corrections to the editio typica were promulgated in 1997.

  • Catholic Scholars Online. Resources for Catholic home schooling.

  • Congregation for Clergy

  • Gerald Darring, Theology Library: Education. Directory of Internet resources for Catholic educators. Official documents first, selected other directories last. Darring teaches high school religion.

  • Scott Fabian

  • Josh Hunt, Good Question! [54K text, 15K graphics, 12K Flash]. Sunday School lessons. For adults. Would also be helpful in leading Bible study groups. Hunt has an M.Div., and was minister of education for eleven years at Calvary Baptist Church, Las Cruces, New Mexico.

  • John Paul II, Catechesi Tradendae (1979)

  • Kids' Chronicle. Bible stories aimed at children ages 6-12. From the Rochester diocesan newspaper. With lots of bright graphics. Updated weekly. Too wide for smaller monitors, older Macs, and MSN TV. Byte size varies; on 8 January 2004, it was 57K text, 59K graphics.

  • National Catholic Educational Association. [26K text, 62K graphics]. Membership organization for teachers and administrators in parochial and diocesan K-12 schools, and seminary rectors.

  • RelEd.org. Two low-traffic message boards: one on using RCIA for children (also, mailing list for child catechumenate), and one for anyone involved in catechesis. Also offers an e-mail discussion list for religious education administrators.

  • Aaron Rittmaster, Hebrew Prophets Web. Jewish perspective, for middle school students.
