Born: February 20, 1939 in Romblon, Romblon. Ordained Priest: April 7, 1962. Appointed Coadjutor c.i.s. of Marbel: November 19, 1980. Ordained Bishop: January 28, 1981. Bishop-Prelate Ordinary of Marbel by succession: October 1, 1981. Installed: November 18, 1981. Appointed Bishop of Marbel: November 15, 1982.

Created as prelature: December 17, 1960. Elevated to diocese: November 15, 1982. Comprises: the whole civil provinces of South Cotabato and Sarangani, the City of General Santos and some parts of Sultan Kudarat. Titular: Christ the King.

 MISSION

Integral Evangelization: To proclaim and witness to the Gospel of salvation and liberation through Massive Education in the Faith, Solid Organizing, Inculturated and Contextualized Worship and Transformative Social Apostolate.

 

THRUST

The Building and Strengthening of "Gagmay'ng Kristohanong Katilingban" (Small Christian Communities or Basic Ecclesial Communities) towards Integral Liberation and Development in order to bring about the "New Self" (Eph. 4:24) and the "New Earth" (2 Pet. 3:13), thereby glorifying God.
