Doctoral Dissertations in Musicology-Online - This site, which is provided by the Indiana University School of Music, is the online version of a well-known book catalog of the American Musicological Society. Site is a searchable and browseable listing of bibliographic information about musicology dissertations. Completed and in progress dissertations from mid-1995 are available for all time periods, and dissertations from earlier print DDMs are available for the general, Antiquity, Middle Ages, and Renaissance categories. Also contains a complete index of authors. Information is available on the DDM codes that accompany each record.

Historic American Sheet Music - Duke University's Historic American Sheet Music Project presents digital images of 3,042 pieces of sheet music from Duke's collections, published between 1850 and 1920. Highlights of the collection include "antebellum Southern music, Confederate imprints, and Civil war songs." The search capabilities allow users to look for music by publisher name, composer, title, performer, and many other terms. There is online help for searching and a glossary of subject headings. Much of the sheet music is illustrated, and it is possible to search for pictures by "illustration type" (theme), allowing access to the subjects of the illustrations as well as the music itself. Music for the Nation: American Sheet Music, 1870-1885 - American Sheet Music, 1870-1885 is an addition to the American Memory Collection of digitized historical materials at the Library of Congress. The online collection currently includes 22,000 musical compositions that were registered for copyright between 1870 and 1879. Both catalog records and digital images of the sheet music are available, allowing users to search or browse by author, title, or subject, and view the complete musical notation.
