"

Total Film - "Total Film is built on a few basic rules. First and foremost, it¹s a monthly magazine about films, not film stars and their lifestyles. It's not about intellectual debate, art or high-brow cinema. Our job is to steer you towards movies that are entertaining, and away from those that aren't. To make sure you know about the hottest films as soon as they go into production, and how they develop through the creative process. We'll tell you about the people behind the films, and the way their minds work. And we'll reveal how filmakers create those amazing stunts and stunning special effects, and what they add to the story. It sounds like a pretty obvious proposition, but the fact is that there isn't currently a magazine out there doing anything like this. The style magazines are too obsessed with personality. Empire is too all-things-to-all-men. Sight & Sound is too arty, the new Neon too young and flip, and Premiere too US-orientated. Total Film, however, fills what we reckon is a pretty massive gap. It's glossy, brash, informed, highly selective and exciting."

Written by staff, librarians, teachers, and film critics, Video Librarian offers some 175 critical reviews per issue, alerting readers to upcoming new releases of special-interest, documentary, and video movie titles. In addition, we inform our subscribers of video bargains (and free videos) and track technological trends."
